WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER VRECKLESS MATCH ON COMIC UNKNOWN!

We return to the professional interdimensional wrestling league with issue two of Vreckless Vrestlers.   In the previous issue we saw the two victors Vegan Cat and the Eye waiting for their opponents at the semi finals. Issue two puts us in the second half of the quarter finals with two crazy match ups. In the first match we find the Original Hippie Killer VS Barbarica.  While OHK appears to be the weakest of all contestants, he is still a strong contender with a few tricks up his sleeve. On the other hand we see Barbarica from Valhalla, an excellent warrior that not only does not care of her looks but has an everlasting vigor that is incomparable. In the remaining quarter final match we are introduced to Spike Lee and Sergeant Reptilion. 

Originally from the 80s, Spike Lee is a leader of a chinese gang from the US west coast. This martial arts master must fight one of the most deadful creatures from the 25th century. Sergeant Reptilion is one of the leaders of the squadrons serving under the Iron Fist orders. The merciless anti-hero must use his tactics to devour his opponent. All in all, i can never except anything less from Lucasz Kowalczuk. Vreckless Vrestlers is always that mindless violence everyone or maybe even everything is looking for. Its unique art grabs attention easily and puts us back into the year 3067 in the tournament where there are no rules. Vreckless Vrestlers Issue Two is available on Comixology for a mere $0.99! WELCOME TO ANOTHER EXPERIMENTAL ANTHOLOGY AT COMIC UNKNOWN

Here at Comic Unknown we have reviewed many different narratives, from a scientist searching for a drug to save his daughter to a post apocalyptic zombie world that still manages to run a proper civilization. We now have an unique opportunity to talk a bit about Sliced Quarterly #1, an experimental anthology that shows the audience ordinary stories in extraordinary ways. SQ #1 consists on nine different stories varying in style and one may even recognize a few creators. We will be reviewing a few of the stories that popped out for us from Sliced Quarterly #1.

Sliced Quarterly #1 starts off with Meta Affliction by the creator of SQ himself, Ken Reynolds. Meta Affliction is beyond clever showing us a character playing video games (alone) and the narrator is pointing out how it is essentially depressing. The character notices the narrator's words on the panels and we can safely say that the character tries to fight back and make the narrator leave her alone. The silliness behind this short story beyond amusing for us seeing how the character breaks the fourth wall and retaliates against the narrator. 

All of the stories have something to make themselves unique as well as having something great to point out. Halfway through the book we find a story most had heard but have never seen. All Along the Watchtower is scripted by Chris Redfern, art by Dave Snell and letters by Ken Reynolds. If you cannot guess by now, the story is based on a song by one of the most influential electric guitarists: Jimi Hendrix. The story felt more like an awesome singalong with stunning colors that did not disappoint. 

Sliced Quarterly is clearly the successful experiment that the world must see. VELCOME TO ANOTHER VONDERFUL MATCH ON COMIC VUNKNOWN

We enter this new adventure with Lucasz Kowalczuk, the mind behind the comic series of an inter-dimensional tournament only known as Vreckless Vrestlers. It is a five part issue miniseries that also has an introductory Issue 0 on the fighters. We see two fights with issue one: Crimean Crab VS The Eye and Vegan Cat VS Flatwoods Monster. We see these fighters in the year 3067  entering the ring with the single rule the tournament: No Rules. Vreckless Vrestlers is essentially the mindless comic people will look for. It has a fighter card in the beginning of each match in both English and Polish and is set up in black and white with green highlighted shading (only in digital).V.V. does not need too much detail to get its story across but we can say that both of the fights in the issue are cold-blooded and barbaric.

 We see a  small glimpse of history that Crimean Crab and The Eye actually knew each other prior to the fight without any actual dialogue. It has some great grungy art that pops with all the violence in the issue. V.V. is that unique comic that refreshes the mind with just a simple chaotic matches with no limitations. We quickly see each fighter's strengths with a victor and loser in each match. It is an entertainingly brutal  and vreckless  book that is its own unique comical experience.  Vreckless Vrestlers Issue 1 is currently available digitally for  $0.99 here and is a book that is its own unique comical experience with a side of brutal wrestling. The only upset is that the self-published edition  is no longer available and the trade paperback was only published in the Polish version by Kultura Gniewu and not available in any shop in North America.
