Comic Unknown Presents: Exodus Z
Its the end of the world and the cause of it is a Zombie Apocalypse. There's no where to go as death and destruction fills the air. But what would happen if the people can be saved? What would happen if people can be saved and sent up to the Silver City?
With the mass exodus/rescue to those worthy of Heaven, nothing else seems to stop the rescue of civilization. Nothing until the mass zombie outbreak manages to do the impossible! A zombie comic like no other, What if the zombie apocalypse reaches Heaven?

Pure Unadulterated Vengeance

Welcome back to another adrenaline pumped review at Comic Unknown. Inspired by the Sin City-esque art style, we enter the world of Only One Of Us. The tale follows Adrestia, a savage and fearless vigilante that is fueled by the vengeance of those who cannot defend themselves. As she uncovers a secret organization only known as Be Ruse, she begins to see the corrupt and violent atrocities they perform including human trafficking. Adrestia strikes and batters her way through the organization to try to uncover the answers she's looking for. Instead of asking questions first and maybe beating them later, she quite literally is beating the hell out of the bad guys as she gathers her information. As stated earlier, Only One of Us's art style is comparable to that of Sin City: black and white with shadows and sprays of color (with the colors usually being red for blood or yellow for the eyes on Adrestia's mask).
The series is action-packed and holds back no punches. It is very entertaining to see how ruthless Adrestia is with criminals even when the odds are against her. From child labor and human trafficking to even a rape scene, Any One Of Us can be a tough pill to swallow for some. The story brings out Adrestia's agony at times and reminds the reader that she as human as anyone else. We are hopeful to see what new obstacles Adrestia defeats to achieve her goal. Currently on its fifth issue, Any One of Us is expected to be a 10 issue story arc. Killian McKellen and Nikita Vasilchuk do a great job keeping the readers staring down the pages and giving them the reason to binge the series with a fistful of savageness. Hooded Interview
WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER GREAT INTERVIEW AT COMIC UNKNOWN! WE TAKE A PEEK BEHIND THE HOODED MIND OF CHRIS JOHNSON!
Chris Johnson: Thanks for having me; I appreciate you taking the time out to talk about Hoody with me. Hoody was born in pain. He's a metaphor for the oppressed and he's my way of fighting back.
CU: What made you want to work in the comic book industry?
CJ: Anything I've ever done creatively has been something I thoroughly enjoyed. I have always been a writer; when I was a child, I drew my own comics at home. They weren't creator-owned, but they were the start of what would become both the Anomalous Comics and Chris Johnson the Writer brands.
CU: How many issues do you have in mind for the series?
CJ: I have two outlined now, and a series open ending. It basically depends on how many times we can duplicate the success of the first Hoody Kickstarter.
CU: Will the Hoody's universe continue after the series?
CJ: Yes, Hoody is part of a larger story in the tapestry I have woven that is the Anomalous Comics back catalogue. He resides in the Downtown sector of the futuristic Savyer City, and interacts with characters from the city in meaningful ways that affect other books slated for later in the year.
CJ: Really, me and Karl work really well together, and Sambas kills it in the coloring phase, so it's one of the smoothest, conveyor belt type processes. Now, were we all in the same room together while creating a Hoody book, that would be a really interesting and fun time!
CU: Are there any other projects you are currently working on or plan on working on in the near future?
CJ: Yes, I actually am releasing two adult comedies, Mind Things of a Dirty Zombie and Super Support Group, with Hoody this month in our Kickstarter campaign and I have an adult horror book called Nightmare Cafe, and an horror/comedy called Thrill Killers.

CJ: I actually found Karl David Hewitt in a Facebook group for artists, and we immediately hit it off. He hadn't done any sequential work at the time, so we started on something small. Five pages. That story would become chapter one of the Hoody comic. Here we are, working on chapter four and we will possibly do a fifth chapter if we can get ten backers to pledge $120 to be killed by Hoody in this first issue of Hoody: Sympathetic Murderer.
CU: When working with deadlines, do you have a specific strategy to best manage your time efficiently?
CJ: Yeah, don't eat until it's done, haha. Seriously, I wake up, sometimes early, and get started on my computer and sometimes don't look up until hours later and my stomach is growling. I guess, dedication is really the core answer to that question.
CU: Who is your favorite all-time superhero/villain? Why?
CJ: I like villains like the Joker and Carnage because of their reckless abandon in direct opposition to their respective heroes.
CU: Who has been the biggest influence on you in the comic industry?
CJ: I love Chris Claremont and Fabian Nicieza's writing ever since I was a kid. Recently, though, David Walker has grown my interest in writing more culturally influenced work, hence Hoody.
CU: What is the best way readers can find more information about Hoody?

Interview of the Cosmos
Welcome to another great interview at Comic Unknown! We introduce Jason Lenox, the creator of Ugli Studios and Lords of the Cosmos
Comic Unknown: Welcome, Jason Lenox and thank you for spending some time with us at Comic Unknown to talk about your book. How did you come up with Lords of the Cosmos?
Jason Lenox: An appreciation and enjoyment for classics from my childhood-Three Cartoons stick out Filmation's Flash Gordon, Thundarr the Barbarian and Masters of the Universe were three standouts that inspired!

CU: What made you want to work in the comic book industry?
JL: I think the medium is endless, and I enjoy working in it.
CU: How many issues do you have in mind for the series?
JL: At least 6
JL: I think so. Well, at least I hope so!!
CU: What was/is the most difficult part in the production of Lords of the Cosmos?
JL: Being a manager to a project, not just an artist

JL: An Adult Satanic Coloring Book is in the works right now as well as Lords of the Cosmos #3.
CU: How did you meet your creators for Lords of the Cosmos?
JL: Jason Palmatier was a client at an old job, and Dennis Fallon was a friend of his.
CU: When working with deadlines, do you have a specific strategy to best manage your time efficiently?
JL: Tell people NO more often than you tell them YES!! Seriously, you have to be careful how much work you accept, and what is the work you are doing- editing out the projects that are not furthering your big picture goals is key to being efficient as a creative, distractions are everywhere!

JL: Conan the Barbarian- he lives by his own rules, fights the good fight, and more often than not, gets the girl in the end- he is a classic character that has thrived as a pulp character and also as a great comic book read for decades!

JL: Alejandro Jodorowsky- he is an amazing creator that has stuck to his vision in comics, film etc. whether people liked it or not- he succeeds on the strength of his belief in his own vision.

Spine Chilling Survival
NEVER AGAIN...
We return to the mind of Caleb Thusat and experience the grim times of World War II. We enter the world of Nook, a creepy ghost story but a chilling reminder of those who attempt to escape the grasps of Nazi Germany. From what history tells us, the war started in 1939 and Britain and France just declared war against Germany. Taking place during that year, we find a family of three fleeing to France to escape the gruesome reality of what is happening in their German homeland. Once at their new but dilapidated home, the daughter Avery's spots a cat. Constantly chasing after the cat, Avery's innocence will soon disappear as everything goes amiss. Noises and shadows around the home appear to be an omen at first, but the true horror drives up to the house instead of coming from within. But there is more than there seems to appear with Nook the cat as it is accompanied by the soul of a young girl that hides in the spandrel room under the stairs. Only time will tell what will occur with this girl and which direction it takes the story.
Released in 2018, Nook issue one is a 32-page black and white story that oozes a sorrow and woeful atmosphere from every angle. Written and created by Caleb Thusat, Nook's writing has accomplished its purpose and swallowed us into its domain. Thusat has the ability to merge sinister events with the innocence of a young child exploring a new home. Nook Issue One brings many questions to the table as it feeds the readers with just bits of information throughout the dialogue. The art by Marcello Biott complements the story in every way. It not only shows the sorrow the writing already provides but increases it with its art style, use of shadows, and the placement of the narrative and ghostly child throughout the issue. Readers can check out Village Comics' Patreon page and/or grasp a copy of Nook Issue One at Village Comics. On March 3rd, Caleb Thusat will be running the Kickstarter for the complete hardcover trade, so make sure to save it and keep an eye out!

Primeval Plains
APOCALYPTIC PROPHECY
Welcome to Kaiju Kingdoms, an ancient domain of massive beasts that protects their territories against an extraterrestrial foe. Summoned by a mysterious cult, it's up its inhabitants Enzo, Asha, and the other humans of this planet to lay their faith on a tool known as the kaijumori to fight back. The series opens with Enzo Di Corso, a boy from the Kingdom of Vencia. He recalls stories told to him from his father, the great explorer Jacopo Di Corso, of giant beasts that protects the many kingdoms. Enzo has terrible dreams including a vision of a horrid space monstrosity headed towards the world. Flash forward to current day and we have a now adult Enzo with his partner, the fierce warrior Asha Jakande, as they travel together facing off bandits who wield the power of the kaiju against them. The giant monsters known as Kaiju come from the deep, the sky, and the strange and are the last line of protection by any means necessary. Ultimately, the monsters shine throughout the story and bring life to the plot bringing out a variety of emotions for the creatures and the world they inhabit.

Everything is Possible

Imagine encountering an infinite moment where death is constant, only to live another moment shortly before the following death. What if every time you die, you actually experience another version of yourself in an Alter-life? Comic Unknown returns to Caleb Thusat's mind-bending series known as Alter-Life. Looking for answers, Jake wanders through the deaths looking for a possibility of finding a life with his deceased wife and child but begins to notice he is being followed. Missing a face and dressed in a suit, Jake sees this mysterious man following him across the lives and deaths. After a specific death where he always wakes up again in his apartment, he experiences something different: someone knocking. Jake peers through the peephole only to see the mystery man once again and freaks out only to accidentally kills himself, momentarily of course.
While Alter-Life issue two did answer a few questions, it brought us even more than before. The storytelling done by Caleb Thusat is not only an amazing encounter but also a frustrating one. We trench through this unique world with only a touch of knowledge forcing us to claw for more information. The more pages that are turned, the more the art absorbs the readers into the Alter-Life world. With Katrina Kunstmann on the helm for the art, the shading and coloring start to show the gloom in Jake's inescapable life or lives. Alter-Life is a five issue mini-series that slowly creeps to the final answer of Jake's life and his mind-bending experience. The best way to get ahold of Alter-Life is via Issue's Four current Kickstarter that can include issues 1-4! Welcome back to another gut-wrenching review at Comic Unknown. We dive back into the body of Morgan where we find the Organauts working to maintain the best possible circumstances that Morgan gets involved in. So what ridiculous situation does Morgan gets into in Issue two of Morgan's Organs? Afraid of being one roll away from getting kicked in the nuts in a dice game, Morgan panics and swallows the die to cover the results. Now the Organauts must figure out how to digest this white plastic hexahedron through Morgan's body and release it through any means necessary. Through the process, some have made a game on determining which side the die will land on "upon release" but Morgan must avoid the suspicion from his friends on the disappearance of the die before all hell breaks loose both on the inside of Morgan and the external environment. 
From crazed organauts to unusual "friends", Morgan's Organs Issue Two is a crazy intestinal ride that leaves readers fully satisfied and entertained. The story does not lag as the comedy is humerus and is as uncanny and crazy as its predecessor. Written, lettered and created by Daniel Brodie, this crazed creator delivers us the opportunity to have Morgan's Organs in existence. Penciled and inked by Robert Jennex and colored by Tyler Kelting, the illustrations are as great as the first issue by being fresh, fun, and digestible with easter eggs everywhere throughout the issue. Successfully funded on Kickstarter on February 28, 2017, Morgan's Organs Issue Two is for a mature audience that is readily available for purchase on their site for $6.00 or you can pick up both issues for 10.00. How would you feel if you found out your best friend was sent to a mental asylum? Alice was just a little girl when it happened and she had nothing but great things to say about her grandfather. Her parents were always busy with work to care for her so Mr. Dyson was there to pick up the slack. Cherishing all those memories she has of him, Alice finds it hard for her grandfather to simply just vanish out of thin air. For years Alice didn't believe what her parents have told her about her grandfather until when one day, her persistence finally came to fruition. Loaded with the information that her grandfather is held in an institution, without hesitation, she immediately stops by to visit him. Passing through the eerie corridors and a horde of unstable people, Alice she finds her beloved grandfather. Filled with questions, Alice still cannot figure out why her grandfather disappeared so many years ago to be checked into a looney bin. 
Will Alice see a darkness inside her idol or will she see her best friend? Written by Daniel Farrand, Untold #1 is a unique horror thriller comic that uses something more domestic as its foundation. At first sight, the story is more of a mystery but as it unravels, it begins to unfold into something more sinister. The Untold uses the black and white format for most of the comic except for certain moments where a splash of color adds an enticing detail to the page. The Untold is the asylum you would not want to step foot in but it is the horror comic that makes you ask for more. Untold Issue One was successfully Kickstarted on August 14, 2016, as well as Issue Two finding its success on June 23, 2017. The Untold is available digitally via Comixology for $1.99. Below are pages three and four of issue two as the creators are still working on the book.

Enchanted Death
Comic Unknown's Epidemic
The Black Death was one of the most devastating pandemics to date killing a fraction of the human population on earth. Taking place in the mid-1300s, Europe was facing their greatest hardship and the plague showed no signs of stopping. People were finding their ways of coping either by punishing themselves for defying God or punishing each other. One way or another, people were being buried and numbers were dwindling. The outbreak wasn't only affecting humans but something more enchanted. The Aos Si ('ay-oss shee'), fairy-like beings who possess magical powers are too fading from the world. The prince of the Aos Si, Twylyth Tegg just lost his father to the disease and is now the newly appointed king. Shortly after his father's death, Tegg sets out to find and protect any and all of his people both from the plague and humans. This leads the readers to Danann an English fairy who wants to give humans the benefit of a doubt. She wants to believe the tales told by her godmother how humans long ago were peaceful and endearing. To her dismay, her home is being annihilated and her friends and family slaughtered by Jean De Moray and his wolves. Danann barely escapes and is injured.
Only with a
cloak she found on the muddy floor, she hides her wings from any mortal
to see. Weak and helpless as she is, Danann falls in front of a young
friar who lost his faith during the Black Death. King Tegg and Warbishop Moray are on the trail of Danann but will one of them find her first or will the friar find out who Danann really is? Plague #1 is a fantastic and well-written narrative thanks to the writing duo of Dennis MaGee Fallon and Jason Palmatier. The well-executed characters and back stories give the series the forward momentum into something that can be magnificent and enjoyable. Zach Brunner runs the visual aspect of the show as the Penciler, Inker, Colorist as well as a creator. His work is spot on as the story progresses and brings the series to life. The artwork and lettering(done by Dave Sharpe) flows through the story smoothly and provides amazing content on every page. Plague shows a promising and refreshing take for most audiences as it is uses Irish folklore. The Plague issue One is readily available on Comixology for $1.99 and worth the read.
