Cherub Union for the Preservation of Intimacy, Devotion and Sensuality

Welcome To Another Secret Mission of Comic Unknown
C.U.P.I.D.S #1 The Death of Venus

Artemis Gray

This week's op is about an organization who brings people together by shooting their chemically engineered arrows in close proximity to their targets so they may fall in love with each other to ensure a better future. This organization is called Cherub Union for the Preservation of Intimacy, Devotion and Sensuality or C.U.P.I.D.S. for short. Intel suggests this agency goes back to ancient Greek where an agent shot Helen, Zeus' daughter, and Menelaus, an exiled prince, to assist in the formation of the Renaissance era. In other words, C.U.P.I.D.S. had a major role in the Trojan War.

The Engineer
Our person-of-interest is agent Artemis Gray and judging from we've seen she's very resourceful and competent to get the job done. We follow her in a mission to get a bank robber and his arresting officer to fall in love to reduce crime for the next decade.  What's intriguing are the chemically enhanced arrows, once hit by one, the agent has a limited window before shooting the second target and the time frame varies on the target's biology. We quickly gathered Intel that they have a new antagonist known as The Engineer. After C.U.P.I.D.S. recent mission involving him stealing a priceless painting, he displayed the painting somewhere the agency can find and was scribbled in blood of two of his victims.

C.U.P.I.D.S. #1 The Death of Venus consists of the following creative team: Charlie McCarrick (Creator/Writer), Carlos Gomez (Illustrator), Francisco Gomez (Colorist), Albert Deschesne (Letterer). This creative team deserves much credit for creating such an appealing comic. It is a great sstory in which will keep the reader entertained as well as involved with the CUPIDS. Its a fun read having a story which uses Greek history as its foundation. The artwork is superb and issue #1 gave enough information to invest the readers towards the characters and the story to future issues. Issue One is available digitally at Comixology for $0.99 linked here.
