Psychic Street Fight

Action and Adrenaline

Greetings, SFC Enthusiasts! Welcome back to another ground pound review at Comic Unknown! We have the privilege of returning to the world of Super Fighting Championship (SFC). Issue two puts us almost immediately into a telepathic match between two psychics, Psionica and the Manipulator followed by a match between The Ram (who controls a field of kinetic energy) and The Gentleman (who controls the powers of shadows). While some supers were actual heroes in the past, others had used their powers for their own benefit. With certain expectations on the line as one of the fighters plans on retiring, readers can enjoy the friendship these fighters have towards one another once they are out of the ring. SFC Issue Two continues with the action-packed pace and also gives the readers a more personal look at the characters. It fleshes out their unique personalities as they are hard at work trying to make their living. The issue also continues off with an SFC Secret file of the great Angelica Reigns as well as a continuation of the mini-series Titanium.

SFC Issue two continues with the same quality issue one provided and does not show any signs of slowing down. The story continues in its steady pace while delivering some excellent fighting exhibitions in between. Considering there are more enchanting or scientific battles in this issue, the art is able to use a nice variety of colors and effects to display things such as shadow powers and psychic abilities. The issue is definitely a fantastic read that only prompts eagerness for the next issue. While unavailable to the public yet, SFC Issue two will be on Kickstarter on October 23rd so make sure to follow their Facebook page to keep track of any updates and catch issue one as it is currently available on IndyPlanet for both print and digital and digitally on Gumroad.

Stars Aren't Born

They're Made

Comic Unknown would like to introduce you to the lucrative world of entertainment involving superhumans clashing in a ring to become the winner of the Super Fighting Championship (SFC for short). Following an unfortunate event where two of the fighters are badly injured, the coordinators of the championship have set up a tournament to establish who is to be crowned as the new champion. Each with their own abilities, SFC Issue one introduces us to Kasai, Boss Stunna, Arma Dei, Jayco, Dynamo, Angelica Reigns, The Gentleman, The Ram, The Manipulator, and Psionica. SFC is jam-packed with three separate fights: Arma Dei VS Jayco, Dynamo VS Angelica Reins, and Kasai VS Boss Stunna. Both on the spotlight and off, these characters easily become personable and pleasant to follow. As the story unfolds, the tension becomes evident between characters as it may become key to future issues.

SFC #1 establishes to what will become a genuinely entertaining series as both the writing and art is on point.  The issue has a creative team that has great potential. The story is by Marcel Dupree, John Griz, Julien Kohlman and Guido Martinez with the script by Julien Kohlman and Guido Martinez. Lucas Perdomo (Art), Marco Pagnotta (Colors) and Brant Fowler (Letters) brings the story to life as they develop a visually enticing story and performed above and beyond. The issue ends with a smaller story called Titanium where we follow a group of rebels with valuable data as they escape what is only known as the Federation of Freedom. Release by Evoluzione Publishing, Super Fighting Championship Issue One is available on IndyPlanet for both print and digital and digitally on Gumroad. Two Broken People

The Road Ahead for Comic Unknown

Comic Unknown returns to the mind of Joshua Metzer and dive into Villain issue #2. With insight on who the characters were and what they want to become, Villain Issue #2 continues where it left off with the serial killer still tracking Lilly, the girl that got away. Gil Grimes is on a date with her and is having a very candid talk on who they were before the attempted murder incident. Unfortunately, the killer is close by waiting for the right moment to strike. Once the date finished, Mongrel spotted the the Gil and Lilly and  intervened the date to warned her to stay away from Grimes. The amount of attention on Lilly quickly catches up to her and the serial killer found his moment to strike but once again failed. This gave Grimes and Lilly a stronger connection, a reason to live, and to become better people regardless of their previous experiences. But like most characters with a past, his past has come back to haunt him once more. Will Gil Grimes ever get to live the life he wants? Meanwhile, Mongrel's investigation turns into a conspiracy theory and must solves it before it's too late.

Joshua Metzger and majority of the original team are back for this issue. Villain #2 not only gave us a history lesson, but also answered some questions from the previous issue. This story gave us enough to invest in the character development, from Mongrel to the serial killer himself. Metzger created the story for this issue and it's brilliant; the same goes for the illustrators. Grzegorz Pawlak (Artist), Andera Celestini (Colorist), and E.T. Dollman (Letterer) all did a marvelous job comprehending Metzger's work and making it fluid and coherent. What will the next issue have in store for us? Readers can purchase Villain Issue Two for $3.00 on Gumroad. Make sure to support and follow the creators on Facebook and their publisher's Facebook.

Old Habits

Comic Unknown's CONfliction

Villain is the crime fiction set in a super-hero universe tale of a grim world full of heroes and as the title mentions villains. Consisting of a creative team of Joshua Metzger (Writer), Grezegorz Pawlak (Artist), Ryan Burt (Colorist), E.T. Dollman (Letterer) and Marcell Mitchell-Hicks (Editor), Villain Issue #1 tells a story about Gil Grimes, the ex-villain who wants to get his life in order and do the right thing for the world.  One night, Gil manages to save a hooker addicted to heroin from a serial killer but not all good deed goes unpunished. Mongrel a hero himself drops in to remind Gil about his past and who he really is. Gil defends himself and says it's all behind him but soon enough, temptation started knocking. An old acquaintance gave Gil a tip about a job with the biggest pay day ever. Will he give in to his old ways or will his new hero label take hold? There is also a bonus story following the hero Mongrel investigating a missing child which leads to something more menacing.

Villain is very dark and gloomy narrative, an ex-con wants to live a normal life of sorts but life itself reminds him of who he was. It's a very nature vs nurture scenario for Gil, the struggle of an ex-con going straight. Joshua Metzger made a splendid story and it picks up around Gil and his history. Grzegorz Pawlak's art follows the story's dark theme with some uncanny shadowing which can leave spine chilling reactions. The bonus feature has the same dark theme as the previous story, the only difference is the monotone art. Overall Villain Issue # 1 is a good start up issue that should continue to develop the story. The character development and inner struggles of Gil Grimes takes center stage and it makes for an interesting read. Villain Issue One can be found on Gumroad for $2.00 digitally. To catch any updates on Villain or any other comics from Evoluzione Publishing, make sure to follow them on Facebook!

King's Armor

WELCOME TO COMIC UNKNOWN'S INTERGALACTIC ADVENTURE!

Armor-I Creative Team
Writer: Marcel Dupree
Penciler: Carlos Trigo
Inker: Gulliver Silva
Colorist: Andrea Celestin
Letterer: ET Dollman

Baranzu Creative Team
Writer: Marcel Dupree
Artist: Joel Cotejar
Colorist: Franco Reisco
Letterer: ET Dollman

We enter the world of Armor-I by following the new kid to the school Jason King. Being the new kid at school can be hard sometimes. You would have to make new friends, watch out for the jerks and find and maintain a status quo. On Jason King's first day he managed to clash with  the school jocks who were bullying a student. After the altercation, he finds out those same jocks will be his teammates on the school's football team. Thinking that he will settle their differences, the jocks invite him to hang out in the woods after football practice. Meanwhile, in a far away galaxy, a scientist Kizan is on the run from Lord Novaden. Kizan is carrying a weapon that can tip the scales of a galactic war to their favor. However, the scientist's ship was shot down and crashed landed on Earth in a wooded area.  After football practice, the jocks drove Jason to the secret spot in the woods to what he believes is to make amends. Unfortunately, they ditched him in the forest to fend for himself and find his way out. His life soon intersects wth Kizan as he stumbles upon Kizan's ship. What will be in store for Jason King now that he crossed paths with Kizan? With the mysteries surrounding the origin of Kizan and the secret weapon, Marcel Dupree leaves the story where it is at to catch our eye and give a little tease.

Armor I Issue 1 has a solid story somewhat similar to how Hal Jordan obtained his ring. Jason King has already been seen fighting for the little guys and we hope for a great superhero comic since he finds a game-changing weapon to whoever possess it. We see by the end of the issue that  the character open to possibilities he would never have expected. We are hopeful to see what history Kizan and Lord Novaden has had, let alone more information on this great war going on. Carlos Trigo and Andrea Celestini gives the art style for this comic a very polished and playful style like a cartoon animation you watch every Saturday morning. The comic as a whole is very compelling and leaves the reader wondering about King's future. As an added bonus, there is an additional comic at the very end called Baranzu about a family visiting Japan with kids being kids, running around causing chaos and accidentally releasing a spirit. What will happen to family now that the spirit has been released? Overall this comic has great stories to offer accompanied with awesome art and we definitely hope to see more from these creators. Armor-I is available digitally for $2.00 on Gumroad. Make sure to follow Evoluzione Publishing on Facebook as well as Marcell Dupree on Twitter!
