Riding Boots

Good Knight

Comic Unknown re-enters the world of Rapid-Eye as we connect into the wave link of Issue Two. We follow CIA Operative Eddie Phillips as he begins to seek help for his recent interactions with those using the Access Trance Machine. With almost nowhere else to hide or find help, he locates Dr. Ella Krupke in hopes to find a solution to his problems. Rapid Eye Issue Two follows its predecessor and becomes the must-read of the stack. In a world where someone can kill you in your dreams, where can one be truly safe? Eddie's debacle continues to haunt him as he is clearly a target by the same agency he works for. How far will they be willing to go to reach him and permanently make him quiet?

Issue two's creativity and design of the story holds no bounds and lets any idea run free and go into full gear. Its complimentary art style stays true to its readers and does not dwindle away its quality. Rapid Eye Issue Two was successfully funded on Kickstarter on August 27, 2017, and created by Bobby Torres with Anthony Rodriguez and Bobby as the writers, Rowel Roque as the Artist, Ronson Edulan as the Colorist, Dave Sharpe as the Letterer/Designer and both Jack Garcia and Jason Bennett as the Editors. While Issue Two is not yet available for pre-order, check out Tenacious Comics' page to pick up a copy of Issue One. So imagine if our lore, legends and  myths of angels, giants and gods were more than just fables. Imagine if these beings have a lineage that reaches out to our modern society. In Hybrids: The Sons of Gods, we finally get to peek into a world with that society. Created by Luke Stone, Hybrids: The Sons of Gods follows Clarence the larger than average "trashman" from WM and we use the word larger lightly considering his biceps are larger than his coworker's head. Confronted by a drone with a monitor, the drone shows a person's message,  a warning to him that someone is after him and to go somewhere safe. Unsure of what is going on, Clarence seems a bit hesitant with the message until what seems to be a huge jet just speeding down the road heading towards him.

So what would be the first reaction one would have when they see this? Well the answer is obviously turn around without looking, crash into a car unharmed while immobilizing the car and flee.  With plenty of action to follow, Hybrids: The Sons of Gods is definitely a fun read with an awesome cover and art. It has action, comedic relief, and a great title for a book. We want to see where the story goes and we ponder whether Clarence is related to god with lightning and/or energy abilities considering the name of the title. With such a humble personality it seemed a bit strange for him to go by the name of Trashman but if a person that makes Arnold Schwarzenegger look skinny says he is Trashman, you cannot disagree with him.

Hybrids: The Sons of Gods is available at Tenacious Comic's catalog as well as their other work for $3.99 each. You can also follow Tenacious Comic's Facebook page for exclusive updates on their titles as well as Luke Stone's site of his work.

Recognition Identified

COMIC UNKNOWN WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME YOU TO ANOTHER TOP SECRET MISSION

We have a rare opportunity to review a book we helped fund and bring to life! Successfully funded on Kickstarter on July 8th, Rapid Eye is a new ongoing five issue mini-series that introduces us the technology of Access Trance Machine. The ATM technology allows a user to enter the dreams of their targets. While entering the dream of the target, any harm that may fall upon the target in the dream, will occur in real life. For example, if the user shoots the target in the dream in the arm, the target will have a bullet hole and bleed in real life. After finding his friend Patrick dead at a diner with confidential documents, CIA Operative Eddie Phillips becomes the new target in Rapid Eye Issue One. Rapid Eye was created by Bobby Torres with Anthony Rodriguez and Bobby as the writers, Rowel Roque as the Artist, Ronson Edulan as the Colorist, Nic J Shaw as the Letterer/Designer and both Jack Garcia and Jason Bennett as the Editors.

This creative team does a great job producing a fresh story. The art of the comic is clean, professional and successfully displays a glimpse of the world of Rapid Eye to its readers. The story progresses smoothly and in good pace that allows the reader to gain the proper intel from this mission. Rapid Eye Issue One is a magnificent piece of work that manifests the vitality behind indie comics and can easily dominate over certain ongoing series from the larger publishers.  With such a success on Kickstarter for Issue One, we will expect the same level of work on future issues.  Rapid Eye is the reason why we at Comic Unknown believe that indie comics are stronger than the norm from major publishers. You can see the strength, heart, and sweat that goes into making a book. You can go to Tenacious Comics' page to pick up a preorder of the book in case you missed out on the Kickstarter for $3.99 which will be available in September 2016. Make sure to check out their social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter for any updates on Rapid Eye and the other books they produce.
