Mecha Madness

We revisit the rookie superheroines only known as Mega Maiden & Chop Chop Princess on their third issue titled Mecha Madness. Mega Maiden and Chop Chop Princess Issue 3 is both written and drawn by Andeh Pinkard. The issue introduces a new nemesis by the name of Robotina, a metahuman cyborg. The inner nerds of our heroines see the only comic shop in the area destroyed by a battle between Captain Awesome and a giant robot and they go insane. With the cockiness of Captain Awesome, Mega Maiden just looses it and joins the battle but against both sides and she just wrecks them. Ironically enough, she had damaged the robot so much that Robotina was fused with enough  of the mech to become the cyborg we see now. 

Mega Maiden and Chop Chop Princess Issue Three is the wise-cracking heroines we may not need but definitely the ones we want. Their adventures and misadventures to the road of being the best superheroes out there definitely have its twists and turns. They work at the Beerhut during the day but definitely finds time to beat up the baddies when they have the opportunity. American Riot V.S. Damage

 After a short hiatus, Comic Unknown is back and kicking! We start off the month with Mega Maiden and Chop Chop Princess Issue 2. We last saw Mega Maiden and Chop Chop Princess kickin' robot butt and each getting new costumes. In issue two, we find these up and coming super heroines getting a special invitation from the Zero Guard, a super hero group based in the city. Zero Guard is relocating to another city and wants MM and CCP to become honorary members of the Zero Guard. With one of the members of Zero Guard staying to train MM and CCP, they quickly find the super villain Damage in fisty cups with The American Riot. With Damage's Hulk like attributes and American Riot's act first and think later in the act of justice style, the honorary Zero Guards get involved and once again shows the baddie who's boss.

Say Hello to the Zero Guard!

 With new allies everywhere, MM and CCP will soon find a new villain in the horizon only known as Robotina in which is everything but average. With two chapters down, Andeh Pinkard's harem/manga styled comics are the proper doses of crude humor in the life of two new heroes on the block. With new characters such as American Riot and the Zero Guard in the series, there is seems to be a good amount of networking going on with the dynamic duo. Like before, the manga art style seen in the issue benefits its humorous writing and allows the reader to enjoy the story line without anything holding it back. While not appropriate for most, Mega Maiden & Chop Chop Princess is always a fun read. It is still building up the Pinkard-verse with plenty of new characters appearing in this issue and more in the horizon. WELCOME BACK TO AN AWESOME CRIME FIGHTING ADVENTURE OF COMIC UNKNOWN!

 While searching through the wilderness of everything indie, Comic Unknown stumbled onto Mega Maiden and Chop Chop Princess. Created by Andeh Pinkard, MM & CCP is Manga Sized Trade Paperback with 122 pages of geeks rioting. While ignoring that horrible pun, this tpb consists of five issues in which all are available for purchase as stand alone issues. While MM & CCP is not suitable for young readers, it is definitely worth dipping your toes into if your looking for a parody of superheroes.

 Today we will start off with just Issue/Chapter One, or Punch One in which Andeh Pinkard calls it. It builds the world of Mega Maiden and Chop Chop Princess. They are in a mission to become new superheroes of the city but aren't sure how to accomplish this goal. While bumping into another superhero in which they respected at first, they soon realize that he is a complete jerk. They find themselves in their first battle with a baddie with the help of a blogger named Erik. They confront Doctor Clockwerk and Smashbox, an evil genius bent on controlling all machines to create a robotic revolution and his robot hench...bot. The battle comes to a conclusion and while MM & CCP enjoy their great victory, they noticed that they need better costumes if they want to be taken seriously.

 This manga styled comic is a very fun read. It shows that the two not so good aspiring super heroines have a shared love of punching criminals and delivering justice. While they are still honing their super skills, they meet some interesting characters along the way. It is a very entertaining read, Andeh would even considers it an adaptation of a TV drama (just humor him). Mega Maiden and Chop Chop Princess Issue 1 is available for 2.99, so get your copy now!
