Union of Species

COMIC UNKNOWN HAS RECRUITED YOU TO THE 12TH HOUR

Welcome to the future where aliens from other planets are norms on Earth. To maintain the peace between species, the Union of Species was enacted. Unfortunately keeping the peace is never an easy task, the Union of Species needs intelligence to stop those who pose a threat to the Union and thus the 12th Hour was born. The 12th Hour has their operatives and agents which go on any types of mission, from gathering intel to eliminating a target. Agent: Wild #0 follows Teresa aka Agent Wild who was in deactivated suspension from a failed mission two years back. She's reassigned to do an extraction and elimination operation. Being able to manifest energy into almost anything should make a mission to kill all those who are against the Union and retrieve a package simple. She is saved by a ghost from her past when she is cornered by the enemy but she is skeptical and in shock.  Informed of a secret faction inside the Union and the 12th  will start a coup, the question becomes whether she believes the intel and which side will she pick.

With Issue Zero at a close, the audience will have to find out what the ramifications are in the future issues. Overall Agent Wild issue zero is exceptional, the art is well-done thanks to Larry Welch, Jeff Graham, Nicolas Chapuis and Jesse Heagy. Agent: Wild has a lot of potential thanks do the creator Don Walker. With this union between alien species, the readers can be hopeful and expect more versatile and diverse agents. Although there isn't much information of the female agent on who she is as a person/alien and how her powers work, we expect the future issues will shed some more light on her origin as well as consequences of intel Agent Wild now knows. A reader will  easily enjoy this sci-fi action thriller with a hint of politics. Agent: Wild Issue Zero is available via Indystash's subscription bundles and you can follow any updates of Agent: Wild on their Facebook page.

Recognition Identified

COMIC UNKNOWN WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME YOU TO ANOTHER TOP SECRET MISSION

We have a rare opportunity to review a book we helped fund and bring to life! Successfully funded on Kickstarter on July 8th, Rapid Eye is a new ongoing five issue mini-series that introduces us the technology of Access Trance Machine. The ATM technology allows a user to enter the dreams of their targets. While entering the dream of the target, any harm that may fall upon the target in the dream, will occur in real life. For example, if the user shoots the target in the dream in the arm, the target will have a bullet hole and bleed in real life. After finding his friend Patrick dead at a diner with confidential documents, CIA Operative Eddie Phillips becomes the new target in Rapid Eye Issue One. Rapid Eye was created by Bobby Torres with Anthony Rodriguez and Bobby as the writers, Rowel Roque as the Artist, Ronson Edulan as the Colorist, Nic J Shaw as the Letterer/Designer and both Jack Garcia and Jason Bennett as the Editors.

This creative team does a great job producing a fresh story. The art of the comic is clean, professional and successfully displays a glimpse of the world of Rapid Eye to its readers. The story progresses smoothly and in good pace that allows the reader to gain the proper intel from this mission. Rapid Eye Issue One is a magnificent piece of work that manifests the vitality behind indie comics and can easily dominate over certain ongoing series from the larger publishers.  With such a success on Kickstarter for Issue One, we will expect the same level of work on future issues.  Rapid Eye is the reason why we at Comic Unknown believe that indie comics are stronger than the norm from major publishers. You can see the strength, heart, and sweat that goes into making a book. You can go to Tenacious Comics' page to pick up a preorder of the book in case you missed out on the Kickstarter for $3.99 which will be available in September 2016. Make sure to check out their social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter for any updates on Rapid Eye and the other books they produce.

Fight to the Finish

WELCOME TO ANOTHER DEATH MATCH AT COMIC UNKNOWN!
Created and Written by Kevin Truglio
Artwork and Lettering by Przemyslaw R. Dedelis

How far would you go to keep your child safe? Would you fight to the death for someone else's amusement? That is what Jason Wagner is willing to do to get Chem 19 for his daughter, Vivian before time expires. We welcome you back the hellbent world where a taking a deadly drug is the same drug that's needed to keep you alive. Chem 19 Issue #5: Death Match puts us in the heart of the games that is hosted by the cartel and the victor receives some C19. The coordinator of the games is not hesitant to remind the addicts who is in command and what can happen if they do not obey the rules. Matches are one on one, it doesn't matter if you are big or small, male or female nobody should let their guard down in these fights. No one can deny the willingness people will have in order to survive and the things they will do to accomplish their goals. We reach the final match, Dr. Wagner against Kyle Semans and he is an absolute brute that can complicate Dr. Wagner's goal. The final match is the death match of the Games so only one can leave the match alive.

Chem 19 Issue #5: Death Match puts Dr. Wagner's physical attributes to the test. The story shows us the lawless society in barbaric times for mere enjoyment for the cartel. From biting onto one's genitalia to bashing someone's head in with a large rock, C19 #5 puts in perspective the savage violence "The Games" brings to the table. Issue five shows the wild state the government has allowed the C19 infested world to be in. Reminiscent of a Purge-style society, only time will tell what will happen with Dr. Wagner and Vivian. Chem 19 Issue #5: Death Match is available at Drivethru Comics and Comixology for $0.99 digitally and at IndyPlanet for a physical copy for $2.99. If you are interested in getting the first 6 issues, get Kevin Truglio's TPB of Chem 19 Vol. 1 for $14.99 (physical) or $4.99 digital in IndyPlanet and be up to date with the deadly chemical on their Facebook page.

Lets Get Juiced

COMIC UNKNOWN WOULD LIKE TO OFFER YOU THIS FEARLESS COMIC
Written and Lettered by Josh Lucas
Cover Art by Paul Anderson
Penciled and Inked by Tamal Saha

In Bay City, there's an adrenal drug that makes you fearless and numb to pain street named "Juice". This makes people even more dangerous causing the police to be armed with .45 caliber rounds than the traditional 9 mm. To make matters worse, the police are being bought out by the gangsters. With the city and the police department corrupted, who will protect the innocent citizens that are stuck as collateral damage? Detective Knight has had enough of the crooked system in this city but in order to fight this plague he needs to use that very same drug. He can't fight the mob as a detective so he digs up something from his past to make sure his anonymity stays intact.

Does he have what it takes to stop this epidemic, overall saving his city? In the first issue, the story is dark and aggressive and leaves a nice amount of necessary questions for the audience to want more. The art matches the stories theme perfectly thanks to Tamal Saha and Paul Anderson. Points to Josh Lucas, the writer, for making a bold decision of the protagonist use the same drug as the gangsters to fight fire with fire. Nonetheless, the first issue opened strongly and it leaves the audience intrigued on how the story unfolds. Detective Ed Knight is a character you mostly see in comics but not in the real world: where you must do what is right no matter how hard it may seem.

He doesn't have that tragic history that defines the character like most comics do, other than him having PTSD which is a fresh take. Even though it's the first issue, he can't take the mobsters alone, he'll eventually need help. But who can he trust in the twisted city? You can follow the story of Moros at their Facebook page for more information. A physical copy of Moros: A Hard Boiled Hero at their store for $3.99 or  in an indy comic sub box either physically or digitally with Indystash!

Stardust Club

WELCOME TO ANOTHER FREAKY REVIEW FROM COMIC UNKNOWN!
Created by: Andrew Pawley

We return to another great installment to the trippiest and freakiest comic that has crossed Comic Unknown. From the dreamlike mind of Andrew Pawley, GalaXafreaks Issue Two continues the psychedelic freakshow with two short stories: King Freak and the Sparkle Tax and Cito and Cita. In King Freak and the Sparkle Tax, we are introduced to the King-Freak, the self-appointed galactic majesty with an addiction to Sparkle and his servant Vizier. Sparkle is the life force of the freaks and our favorite GalaXafreaks are gobbled down by the King-Freak for their essence! We follow Captain Yeah!, Ringzola and Optik into a sickly mini-verse inside of King-Freak himself as they undo to what has happened to them! Their adventure inside the gluttonous king is brief while they victoriously threw off the oppressive king and are once again living free.

Cito and Cita are two fans of the GalaXafreaks and they are chilling talking about their favorite trans-dimensional multi-faceted avatars. Right when they least expected anything to happen in their somewhat mundane lives, Captain Yeah! pops into existence in front of these diehards fighting some crazy baddie. With new characters here and there, we are enjoying seeing this universe expand short story by short story. Each character has their unique flair and stands out in their own way. Having this distinctive art style does not slow down this mind-bending train ride. The GalaXafreaks experience is the Woodstock of comics having each story as their own power performance and the colorful manifestation we cannot get enough of. We are glad to have stumbled on this comic and to see the story progress throughout its issues. With constant successful Kickstarters from Andrew Pawley, GalaXafreaks is merely starting their road trip through the universe. If you are interested in the first two issues of GalaXafreaks, sign up to GalaXafreaks' Newsletter and you will receive the two comics for free digitally. You can also purchase the Trade Paperback which includes the original four issues.
